Because of a sedentary lifestyle, our body tends to stiffen up and becoming flexible will help you feel better.
Here are 3 ways to stay flexible:
Body Stretches: This article from Prevention gives some benefits of stretching
1 – Boost cardio exercise for just 20 minutes a day.
2 – Do body stretches help:
- Increases blood flow
- Helps prevent falls and supports stability
- Relieves stiff muscles and joints
3 – Get regular massages.
What is considered regular massage? Consider these factors as it depends on your lifestyle:
1) Do you have a physically demanding or stressful job 2) How is your sleeping pattern or the bed & pillow comfort and 3) Do you listen to your body through awareness – does your body give signals of aches & pains.
You see, massage should be considered as preventative – it prevents aches & pains and/or injury.
Don’t wait until your body feels those pesky aches & pains. If you find yourself at this stage, you’ve waited to long. I recommend massage every 3-6 weeks as a preventative, not a repair.
